Holy Cross International College Students Promised To Study Hard 2020/2021 Academic Year.

Students studying at Holy Cross International College, HCIC Yaounde have pledged to work extra hard as the 2020/2021 Academic Year resumes in Cameroon.

Speaking on October 4th on the school campus, students expressed appreciation for the fact that they are returning to school after almost seven months of break due to the coronavirus pandemic. They said they are looking forward to performing better than last year. “Coming back to school after this period is good but I have a lot of mixed feelings. I am happy coming back to see my teachers, friends and to study but on the other hand, I am really sad because I will not see my family for a very long time now,” Thiery Junior, a Form 2 student said. He added that “As you know, we are already late and we need to do everything possible to catch up. It means that we need to study hard.”

To another student, “I feel happy. I feel like I have already learned a lot but I wish to promise my parents that I will work hard to be among the first 10 in class.”

Meanwhile, children and their parents had a deep reflection moments as both parties parted ways. As parents, some children could be seen crying as they are going to miss each other. Teachers on their part guided the students as they made their way to the various dormitories. Schools in Cameroon are expected to begin on October 5. Pupils and students are going back to school after the teaching/learning process was forced to stop in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. HCIC registered a 100-percent pass in the Cameroon GEC Examinations.
